Cookie Policy
Last updated: 4 July 2026
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies Unbottleneck uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember things about your visit. "Similar technologies" include local storage — a small amount of data stored inside your browser — which Unbottleneck uses primarily instead of traditional cookies.
What we use them for
Unbottleneck currently uses only strictly necessary storage:
- Authentication — a session token stored in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in and can access your data.
- Payments — Stripe's checkout may set its own cookies on Stripe-hosted pages to prevent fraud and complete payment. These are controlled by Stripe and covered by Stripe's privacy notice.
- UI preferences — for example dismissing a one-time announcement — stored locally in your browser.
We do not currently use advertising, retargeting, or third-party analytics cookies. If we add analytics in the future we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Do you need to consent?
Strictly necessary cookies and storage do not require consent under UK/EU rules because without them the service cannot function. If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future we will present a consent banner and only set those cookies after you agree.
How to control cookies
You can:
- Clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings — this will sign you out of Unbottleneck.
- Use your browser's private/incognito mode to avoid persistent storage.
- Sign out of Unbottleneck to remove the session token.
Blocking strictly necessary storage will prevent the service from working correctly.
